Leonard Barrie "Barry" Corbin (born October 16, 1940) is an American actor. His most well-known role came in the television series Northern Exposure (1990–1995), for which he was consecutively nominated for two Primetime Emmys.


Corbin began his career as a Shakespearean actor in the 1960s, but has been typcasted in more recent roles as a local sheriff, military leader, or some other authority figure. He appeared in several episodes of Dallas (1978 TV series) as Sheriff Fenton Washburn. In 1983, Corbin co-starred in the famed television miniseries The Thorn Birds. In 1983–1984, Corbin played Merit Sawyer in the NBC television series Boone. He also played Sheriff Harv in Critters 2: The Main Course (1988).

From 1990 to 1995, Corbin portrayed former astronaut and local business leader Template:Wo on CBS's Northern Exposure, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.[1]
